On November 04, 2008, I will cast my vote for President of The United States of America on behalf of my sons. And my daughter and step-daughter.

Recently, our family had the opportunity to visit Chicago, Illinois.  One morning, as we walked along the city sidewalks we viewed numerous Obama signs.  It prompted a family discussion. I voted for Senator Obama in the Democratic primary, whereas my husband did not (he strongly urged me to vote for Senator Clinton).  This fascinates our children, especially our son, John. We both think this is great as it allows us numerous opportunities for thoughtful discussions and teaching moments about our rights as Americans to freely cast our votes.

 WOOP-ASS WOMEN

          Recently some very silly remarks have been flying around about the capacity of

  women who are moms to be leaders and have "jobs" outside of the home.Women unfortunately

  have been at the front of the line spewing this kind of goofy tripe - women such as

  Sally Quinn of the Washington Post.

          So as always we should let history be our guide. In that spirit the website

(Editor's note: we looked but couldn't find a single story about the almost two hundred women in Afghanistan who have set themselves on fire - two this week alone- because their lives suck from abuse.)

      BRAD GARRETT OF THE TV SHOW "'til death" SHOWN ON FOX on Wednesday night has done it again.

     Last August 2007 he attacked Joe Mansour a photog from Senegal after making a racial slur and saying "we don't like blacks in Beverly Hills."  It was caught on You Tube. All week he has been slaming Gov. Sarah Palin and her family with explicit sexual references. Today he called Sarah Palin "Trailer Trash."

      

       Recent reports from Afghanistan report an alarming trend. The number of Afghan women setting


       themselves on fire to escape their brutal condittions at home. Close to two hundred women

       have immolated themselves this year alone. How horrible does your life have to be that

       burning to death is to be preferred?

I am literally sick to my stomach after hearing Senator Obama's "lipstick on a pig" statement.  Here's why:  the pig portion was the “nice” part.

 I grew up in a certain socio-economic class where my friends who were guys very often repeated a standard line, which many of you may or may not also have heard; this statement referenced women, the smell of fish and the taste of chicken. I don’t think there is a man anywhere who has either not heard this or used it to refer to a woman.

Any fair minded observer, whether they support Obama, McCain, Nader or Barr, has

to admit that Vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is not getting a fair shake

from the media. It boggles the mind some of the questions she is being asked.

      Most of my adult professional life has been dedicated to women's rights
 

      Women's shelters across the country are closing. Rape crisis centers are horribly understaffed.

There are not enough I.C.E. agents to put a dent in Human Trafficking within the borders of the United

States. Most of those trafficked are women and young boys for the sex trade.Dozens of American citizens

have been kidnapped from their homes along the Southern U.S. border and taken into Mexico.

When you ask government officials to do more to address these issues, they tell you "Funds are not there."
